Odoo gives you a default Chart of Accounts (CoA) based on your country.
You can change it by going to Accounting > Configuration > Chart of Accounts. There, you can add new accounts, change existing ones, and set the account type.
Setting the correct type is important for accurate reports like the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss.
Odoo can connect to your bank and bring in bank statements automatically. To set it up, go to Accounting > Configuration > Bank Accounts. You can link your bank using a service like Ponto or Salt Edge (this depends on your country and Odoo version).
In Odoo, you can create customer invoices from the Sales app or directly in Accounting.
Vendor bills are added from the Purchase app or also in Accounting.
Odoo helps you keep track of what customers need to pay (Accounts Receivable) and what your business needs to pay to vendors (Accounts Payable) using reports like the Partner Ledger and Follow-up.
Odoo provides all standard reports, including: Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss (Income Statement), Cash Flow Statement, Executive Summary, General Ledger, Partner Ledger (AR/AP), and country-specific tax reports.

Also, when you ship a product, Odoo makes the right accounting entries to show the cost of the product sold and update the value of your inventory, as long as you use automatic inventory valuation.
